In Colombia, cities have experienced significant urban development due to regulation and strategic planning, since the creation of Law 388 of 1997. This has also triggered significant disparities such as low competitiveness, due to the strategic location of the cities. The present study examined the urban system of the cities of Sincelejo-Montería, in the Colombian Caribbean, in relation to its urban mobility and collective facilities. As the basis of the study, the sustainability variables of the aforementioned regional system were analyzed, addressing the analysis methodology of Indicators of Emerging and Sustainable Cities (ICES) of the United Nations. The analysis reveals the transformation of the regional landscape and the poor accessibility to means of mobility and access to collective facilities, reaffirming that strategic intervention policies are necessary, which can redirect the tributary municipalities of the system, towards development with emphasis sustainable that tends to generate scenarios of social equity, citizen convergence and participatory economy.
